Taylor Swift - The Debut (Radio Special)
It’s a big day! Taylor Swift dropped exactly ten years today, kickstarting the career of our dear, benevolent leader. It can seem amazing now, but back then she had to work her tail off promoting just to get the album to 40k first week sales. One of the marketing opportunities she took advantage of was a radio special for the CMT Radio Network to air across the country around the release date. She sat down for an interview about how the album came to being and performed two songs from it on her guitar: Tim McGraw and Picture to Burn (included above). As far as I can tell (i.e. I did a quick Google search and couldn’t find anything) this has seemingly disappeared from the internet since I got it something like 8 years ago. This is the special (minus the songs from the album that were played during it) including both acoustic performances and over 20 minutes of interview segments.
