sometimes i think about trying to talk to people about historical stuff that gets misinterpreted or misconstrued to try and like... find common ground? be educational? something.

but it's never worth it because people don't actually want to digest information that runs counter to the narrative they've constructed in their heads, or have inhaled from someone else who seems authoritative and that confirms their biases.

if you write "people are saying X" or "i've seen posts about Y" i'm gonna need you to cite those for me in APA style. "the show is presenting that A character is doing Z things for Q reason" you argue? okay then give me 5 peer-reviewed citations now.
