“ well , what were you doin’ ?? traipsing ‘round with yer kilt over yer noggin ?? ” / @exhuntra , starter call .
violent muse reaction prompts ↬ [ point + gun ] from ( @exhuntra )
— both octane and mirage were gone, leaving loba to defend herself. with a lull in the fighting, she ran straight towards a building located on the north side of king’s canyon. with the metal door slamming behind her, she ran straight upstairs and towards the back-most room. carefully, the girl scoped through all the windows, looking down the optics of her sniper rife to make sure the coast was clear on all sides. it seemed safe, which was a start. onto the next thing -- health and shields, she was in dire need of them both.
using her black market, she threw her septor in the ground, the blue glow illuminating her face in the dark corner of the room. there was a constant glance over both her shoulders every few seconds as loba started to grab what she needed -- medkit, shields, sniper ammo -- she was in the middle of grabbing it all before she felt the barrel of a gun against her head. with a short sigh and a roll of her eyes, loba turned to see the familiar masked face of bloodhound, jokingly putting her hands up. it made sense, she thought -- they were an expert in being undetected, and they probably knew she was here a long time ago. “i suppose we’re at a bit of an impasse here, hound,” her tone optimistic despite have a gun pointed at her forehead, “no way i can sweet talk my way out of this one, huh?”
❛ you point that thing at me you had better pull the trigger . ❜ (For Fuse!)
he remembers the first time they met : on the same team despite him dipping to make a show of it all , the . . . destruction of maggie’s rage and desire for revenge . the fact hound pulled a gun on him for going for an , admittedly , out of place butt pat . he laughs , “ could’a said the same to you , mate . ” one handedly , fuse pumps a peacekeeper with a smug aura radiating from him . this situation gave the salvo fighter a power - trip for one of two reasons : either it was just the rush of catching his opponent off guard , or the fact that it was specifically bloodhound that he had cornered . he didn’t have time to think about it , and he’d definitely search for hound in medbay to say ‘hey , sorry ‘bout your head , bud’ . but , for now , fuse’s attention is elsewhere . his lips quirk , a chuckle escaping him as he steadies his aim to track their head through viewfinder . they were his . . . friend ?? acquaintance , they might say / they are so bloody formal sometimes , it drives him nuts . “ but we ain’t on the same team this time , so i ain’t hesitatin’ . ” deft fingers squeeze at the trigger , “ hope you gave ‘em copy of your dental records , cause you’re gonna need ‘em , pup . ” / dangerous sentence prompts , accepting .
↬ “remember, i’m on your side. i’m here to help.” from @exhuntra
— the pain was quickly worsening, crawling slowly up her leg to the point where she could barely stand. they were in the middle of the arena, tucked safely in between a crack in the canyon. the girl was running, trying to escape a shower of bullets headed her way, but one -- just one -- managed to nick her just above her thigh. loba despised the thought of being deadweight on this team, being the reason her and her team lost. . . she wanted so badly to carry on, so she declined the hound’s first offer at help with the quick wave of her hand. . . thought she could maybe mange for the rest of the game, take care of the wound after they had won. but she was struggling, and if she simply accepted the help, maybe they could still pull off a win and her want for a win outweighed her fear of actually asking for help, “fine,” she replied quickly after hearing their words, resting her shoulder against the rugged rock, “i need a medkit. . . and god. . . just help me with this pain.”
☠ @exhuntra ( bloodhound ) sent : [ GUARD ] -- for your muse to step between my muse and danger ☠
OCTAVIO HAD NEVER BEEN TOO SURE ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH BLOODHOUND. they were almost a polar opposite to whatever he had going on. at least that’s what it felt like to the daredevil-- and somehow that just made him assume they wouldn’t risk their life for him when it came down to it.
so, octavio was even more shocked to see bloodhound step in between him and a grenade.
for once, octane was able to think just as quickly as he could run, so before the grenade could detonate in bloodhound’s face, octane pulled a disk from his belt and threw it to the ground in front of his teammate’s feet. it automatically built itself up into a jump pad, and knowing this, octane was quick to push hound onto the pad and launch them into the air. he followed soon after, and just as he ejected, the grenade detonated, leaving a burst of flames followed by a cloud of smoke.
“ WOO! that was so close! “,
octavio shouted, sounding more excited than he probably should.
" You’re a rare person. Your determination is… frankly, it’s scary. "
“ oh ?? ” nothing she didn’t know : rare , determined –––––- adjectives the doctor has been called or has called herself . but hearing it from them , hearing the hunter call it scary almost made her jump . instead , she takes it as a compliment , chuckling a couple of beats and tilting her head . the games weren’t around when she was last grounded , but upon her involvement , horizon was privvy to the information surrounding it . champion multiple times , feared hunter , seemingly unbothered bloodhound said her determination was scary . a brow raised , leaning hip against a table and crossing ankles , “ i’ve gotta say , quite admire yer drive as well . next set of games , i reckon me an’ you should partner up . not that you need my help , but i think we could give these numpties the hardest run for their money . whaddya say , sealgair ?? ” / i care a lot , accepting .
“ you’re both renowned and a complete and utter mystery. ”

He can’t help it; Bloodhound’s words make a smirk crawl across his lips. When they put it like that, Crypto can’t help but feel a little pleased.
When he first hacked himself into the games, the fame that came with being a legend had been a significant worry for him. Surely someone would recognize. Surely they would know he didn’t belong.
But, as it turns out, the spotlight is the safest place to be.
“Good,” he eventually says, still smiling as he turns to face them. “I enjoy being a mystery.” And the renown has been a nice armor to boot.
