My headcanon for why Shihori doesn’t show up in Misa’s vote memory is that she stayed inside the coffin-bed thing and the other two left, not knowing she was there, because she didn’t give a fuck.
I aspire to that level of apathy haha.
Sorry if this is bringing back something you already lost interest in, but I was rewatching EE because why not and I was confused by something about Miori’s backstory? in the archives, it details her stalker confronting her on a shrine’s stair, after which she pushes her off mid panic, but her pre-exile theater scene makes it seem like she was almost assaulted? Like she was grabbed from behind and dragged into the trees before the other two saved her. So were those two separate occasions?
Hmm, I'd have to go back to check, but iirc those were two separate occasions.

Do you have any other final thoughts on EE that you didn't mention in the finale?
It’d be kind of nice if I did, but unfortunately I just...don’t really have that many thoughts left about it?
I think there was some potential to do some really interesting things, like I mentioned throughout the LP, but overall it chose a very safe, very boring route that somehow ended up being derivative despite not actively cribbing from anything.
Congrats on finishing Exile Election! A major theme throughout the elections was that each opponent had a secretly selfish motive behind their propositions. That being said, how do you think Kaname would fair against a character who is being completely sincere? That throughout the trial they have a genuinely enticing desire and are wearing their heart on their sleeve the whole time? I'm actually surprised no one's said "Yeah I have my own motives, but does that even really matter?".
This is a really good question.
I think that it would depend heavily on what was being presented. Some of the themes were iffy even with the best of intentions, like the whole thing about eliminating death and whatnot, but others, like the one about the morality of eating a sapient being in a crisis for survival, would be tougher to argue against. Certain themes, like the one in Izuki’s election, would actually be extremely difficult to rebutt.
It does seem a bit convenient that every single person had some kind of selfish motive, since that was really convenient for Kaname. I suppose you could read it as humans are inherently going to default to self-preservation first, which could be an interesting theme if it were presented a little less like a moral failing of the other person and more like a harsh reality that we all need to be aware of.
Plus it seems a bit odd that the game puts the accidental panic murder of Miori’s stalker on the same level as the twins intentionally killing Hakushuu’s parents to get him all to himself. Izuki offing his shitty brother who let him take the fall for him in a murder case and was planning on killing him anyway is a way different context from both of those things. It’s just a little odd the game never actually delved into that, either.
