Sheep Plushie (Zhang Yixing Imagine)
I wrote this smol thing last night for my friend’s birthday and she said to post it here so she can cry more. I love you, you beautiful goddess.<3
Genre: All fluff, tis smol
He was exhausted, the heavy drowsiness weighing down on his shoulders. His eyes were weary and tired, his hair slightly messy after the uncomfortable sleep he managed to get on the plane. His chapped lips were hidden behind the mask that hooked loosely around his ears. He was quiet as he followed his manager through the screaming crowd of girls and fellow passengers. He waved half-heartedly at the fans who came to greet him, a small hello here and there, but what he wanted more than anything right now was to go home and rest.
His schedules have been hectic, forcing him to travel between countries several times in the last few weeks. It had been so long since he had been home. He had faith that security would help him get through the airport quickly. He wanted to see her.
He held onto the large stuffed animal longingly. He had gotten it for her, a cute sheep to keep her company when he was gone. He always felt guilty for leaving her alone so often, and he could only hope this would be some kind of sentiment for her.
They found a quieter area to rest while they waited for their car. His manager told him to relax while he went to contact the driver. The idol sighed in relief when he finally sat down, the ache in his legs becoming less and less with each passing moment. The sheep plush sat in his lap comfortably. He wrapped his arms around it and hugged it, pressing his face against the soft fuzz of its head. His eyes closed as his exhaustion began to overwhelm him.
He was acutely aware of the activity around him. The sounds of the intercom calling for flights and the chatter of people passing him by reached his ears, but he hardly paid any mind. Time seemed to pass by slowly, making him grow anxious. He sat back and pulled out his phone, sending a text to his manager asking where he was. Then she came to mind, his thumb hovering over her name as he debated on calling her. Part of him wanted to surprise her, but he missed her voice.
“You’re not trying to replace me, are you, Yixing?”
The man jumped when her arms wrapped around his neck from behind. He was surprised, not expecting her to be there, but he was also elated at her sudden appearance. He turned to look at the face he found so beautiful, reaching up to take her hand in his, squeezing softly. He grinned under his mask, but she could see the happiness when his eyes lit up, making her smile back at him.
“Never,” he said. He held onto her hand as she moved around the seats to sit in the one next to him. “How could I ever replace you?”
She nodded teasingly at the sheep plush and gave him a mischievously stern look. “Oh is that right?”
He looked at the stuffed animal in his lap and laughed, patting it softly. He pushed it onto her lap and dragged her arms around it to latch on. “This is for you. If I’m gone and you get lonely, this will keep you company.”
She hugged the sheep tightly. “So it’s actually a replacement you.”
He hummed quietly, thinking to himself. “You can’t replace me.” He laid his head on her shoulder, once again feeling sleepiness in his eyes. “How did you know to be here?” he mumbled.
She raised her car keys in front of him. “I’m your driver. Ready to go home?”
He nodded before sitting up. “But before that…” He wrapped his arms around her and tugged her over to sit on his lap, burrowing his face in the crook of her neck. “I missed you.”
She leaned into him, feeling small in his arms, but finding warmth and comfort from him. “You’re staying home for a while this time, right?”
“I’m all yours.”
She tugged his mask down to kiss his cheek lovingly. “Let’s go home.”
