Exo-Force Friday: Blade Titan
Me: Exo-Force should get a reboot that makes it waaay darker and edgier than LEGO would ever be comfortable with. Also take notes from BSG '05 for the portrayal of the robot faction.
Me: Hero Factory should get a reboot that gives it like, any amount of darkness or edge in the first place, any sort of story depth LEGO I am begging you, hands and knees here.
Me: Slizers was already weirdly dark and edgy in aesthetic, I suppose it was the 90s after all, but it should get a reboot that really leans harder into that with a dash of space horror. (Note; not to be confused with cosmic horror.)
Me: I think Bonkle should be slightly more chillaxed and niceys actually :)
for some fun reason im thinking about exo-force ocs, gotta do a bigger version of the mech next but blegh
[SWB 205] Thunder Fury
All pieces used come in these colors!
Since this was the last of the OG four Exo-Force Mechs, I wanted to do a little group render
Rebuilt the Bridge Walker into the Raven Attacker and here's my review:
Cons:
There isn't much space to hold the thing, no handle beneath, so it's not incredibly swooshable.
There is some cheating involved, requiring you to source 4 pieces from White Lightning, those being two 2L pins for the nose guns and more crucially 2 3L pin/axle hole parts to attach the long cannons on the wingtips.
I did omit these in my reconstruction as to keep the build "pure" and leave White Lightning intact; Additionally as the longer pieces are required for White Lightning's own alternate build.
One minor gripe may be that the pilot, a monochrome Devastator, is legless as well, and even sacrifices parts of his fellow robots to the build.
Pros:
This is a quite sizeable alternate model. I had been holding off on its construction as I was under the impression it would not hold up to the presence of Bridge Walker, and I was pleasantly surprised to find otherwise.
Indeed, the leftover parts is a rather small pool:
As is a very common issue with Exo-Force alternate builds, stability comes into question, and is very happily answered: Yes! It is one of the most stable Exo-Force alternate builds I have done, the only questionable portions being the wingtips' alignment during construction, as there is no proper spacers to keep the Technic beams from flexing.
It sounds like I have more gripes than praise, but I absolutely think this alternate build is well worth the time and effort to slap together.
Solid 8/10.
