Out of curiousity, I have come wading back into this tumblr to see what has happened while I was gone. To my surprise, I only see the number of followers growing despite its state of abandonment.
Here're some of the answers for most asked questions in my inbox:
Q: Many of the fics that have been recommended on this site can't be found. Where are they?
A: Yes this is extremely unfortunate. Many authors have locked their journals and fics in an attempt to prevent their fics from being recommended when eatyourkimchi (I'm pretty sure you know who they are) asked for everyone's favourite fanfiction. Even though this has blown over, the damage has pretty much been done and the result was the loss of many beautiful pieces of writing.
As to where to find them: I do not know. It was the author's decision to lock their work away and I will respect that. However if you feel like you honestly want to read their work I think you could try sending them a message on LJ. If you're sincere enough they may grant you access. However do not distribute it or they may end up losing faith and leave the fic writing community entirely. Also, some writers have left LJ completely so there's really nothing much you can do about that.
Q: Do you only recommend fics from LJ?
A: Not necessarily, no. I have recommended fics from AFF before but those are in the minority as I happen to stumble across quality fics mostly on LJ. My rule is such that as long as I like it, I will recommend it.
Q: Can you recommend some sad fics?
A: Try here, or trawling through my answered tag here. I tend to favour angsty fics though so you should be able to find a handful by just browsing through my history. Also this will be very helpful: the angst tag.
Q: Will you be coming back for good?
A: To be honest, I don't know. This blog has always held a special place in my heart (hence my return visit) so I wouldn't rule out chances of me popping back in to answer questions and write modposts like this one here. But in the sense of coming back and posting almost everyday like how I did in 2013, than nope. I doubt there will ever be a time when I'm that active on this blog ever again.
