Society urges her to take the easy road, the one that everybody travels on. She has her doubts about this, resulting in an inner conflict that everybody is confronted with at some point. Should I do what everyone else is doing, or go my own way? She intends to let society to tell her what to do, because she is uncertain about herself and is willing to give into that weakness even though it isn’t what she wants to do. This parallels Mowgli’s tendency to listen to and obey the animals around him, despite being biologically human and more prone to fitting in with humanity. (c)
