i was with you. i was totally with you till you pulled the oldest sci fi tv storyline trope by appropriating Indigenous cultures and stories to add an "exotic" flare to your freak-of-the-week episode. X-Files did it. Buffy did it. Roswell did it...

you could have told a transformation story without further fetishizing Indigenous histories.  i am sure there are more nuanced and linguistically savvy responses to this out there but, there ya go.
