Maribelle update! The surgery went well today! The vets removed a large amount of infected material from behind the eye. The eye itself was also starting to get infected and they said it was a good thing we removed it ASAP because the infection could have easily spread to her brain. The area was flushed out and treated with topical antibiotics before they sutured it up. She is underweight at only 56g (average is 80g-120g) so we are going try our best to get her appetite back. She did eat some food the vets offered her after surgery, so that's a good sign! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared Maribelle's story!
