SEBAEK: things you said with blooming bruises and stinging cuts
“you didn’t have to do that, you know?” sehun frowns at the smiling baekhyun.
the older male has a bruise forming on his cheekbone and a cut near his eyebrow which had stopped bleeding after sehun let baekhyun into their shared apartment. baekhyun shrugs off his jacket, flinching as it hooks onto his left wrist. he definitely needs to get that checked out.
“hyung, i’m serious. you shouldn’t have to get hurt because of me.”
“uh huh. so i’m supposed to let you get beat up instead?” baekhyun snorts, fingers prodding at his bruise. he was going to have to steal some concealer or something from jongdae. heck, he was going to ask jongdae to cover this up for him since he was great at covering up all those hickeys all these years.
“stop that, it’s just going hurt more,” sehun swats his hand away. “and no, i won’t get beat up. i can run. i’ve got long legs, hyung.”
“now you’re just being silly, sehunnie,” baekhyun grabs hold of the younger male’s hand, lacing their fingers together. “i’m always going to protect you, alright?”
sehun pouts but nods anyway, “alright.”

“Are you ready?” You heard Sehun shout from the other side of the bathroom door.
“I’m still finishing my makeup,” you replied. From the other side of the door you could hear Sehun huff. “It’s a blind date, Sehun. I need to look my best.”
Although you couldn’t see him, you were pretty sure that Sehun was rolling his eyes. “You always want to look your best.”
“I told you we didn’t have enough time to find that bubble tea shop you really like,” you said after finishing the last wing of your eyeliner.
“Well maybe YOU shouldn’t have spent so much time at the comic book store,” Sehun retorted. Now it was your turn to roll your eyes at Sehun’s immaturity.
“You were having a fun time at the comic book store too you loser, so don’t complain,” you said as you searched through your makeup bag for the right color of lipstick to match your look for the blind date that Sehun had set up for you.
“Are you done yet?” Sehun whined. “You’re taking too long. This guy you’re going out with is a complete loser. You don’t have to look this good for you him.”
You opened the door of the bathroom and glared at Sehun. “He better not be some creep that will insist that I ‘owe him a favor’ after the date.”
Sehun laughed and walked into your room. “Don’t worry he’s not that bad.”
“This is going to be the last time I let you set me up on a blind date,” you said before applying red lipstick.
“After this date, you won’t need anymore blind dates from me. The guy I set you up with is your type. He’s a big ass dork and a huge nerd. You’ll love him.”
Despite the banter between you and Sehun, you really hoped that he had set you up with a good guy. You couldn’t even remember the last time you had gone out on a good date. Most men never seemed to take you seriously and all they wanted to do was get physical with you. Sure making out was fun, but there’s more to dating then swapping spit.
With a final look in the mirror, you deemed yourself ready to go on this mysterious blind date. Although you had no idea who Sehun had set you up with, you did know that the date would consist of bowling and then going out to eat, which sounded pretty nice.
After braving the crips air you briskly walked into the bowling alley, your heart beating hard against your chest. You couldn’t remember the last time you felt this nervous. On the one hand, you chastised yourself for being nervous about going on a date with a stranger, but on the other hand you knew your nervousness was well warranted. Although you weren’t desperate to find a boyfriend, you didn’t want this date to disappoint. Tonight you wanted to enjoy yourself and you hoped that you would not end up playing “one-hundred-and-one ways to escape a miserable date.”
I’m here, you texted Sehun after entering the bowling alley. The lights were dim, with the sound of bowling pins being knocked down and one of the current top 10 hits playing through speakers.
Good! So is Chanyeol. He looks like this, Sehun replied with a picture of Chanyeol. The pictured showed a tall lanky man, wearing a red sweater and dark wash jeans. He had a bright, goofy smile on his face, his ears noticeably protruding from his black hair. All in all, you thought he was good looking and you hoped his looks matched his personality.
As you walked further into the bowling alley, you looked around for your blind date. At the eighth bowling lane, you noticed the back of what you were pretty sure was to be Chanyeol’s head. You slowly walked up to him, your heart beating wildly against your chest.
“Chanyeol?”
He quickly stood up from his seat and turned around to face you.
“Hi-i,” he stammered as he stuck his hand out for you to shake.
“Hi Chanyeol I’m Y/N, Sehun’s friend,” you said as you shook his hand.
“Hi Chanyeol I’m Y/N, Sehun’s friend,” he said in reply. He blinked when he heard himself speak. “Ummm. I mean I’m Chanyeol.” You smiled at his nervousness and felt relief wash over you. It was nice to know that you weren’t the only one that was nervous.
“Did you already get your shoes?” you asked as you put your bag down on a seat.
“Am I not wearing shoes?” Chanyeol asked with panic laced in his voice. His looked mirrored that of a deer caught in headlights and you both looked down at his feet to see him wearing a nice pair of sneakers.
“No, no. I meant bowling shoes,” you said with laughter. Chanyeol’s shoulders sagged in relief and he shook his head.
“Oh n-not yet,” he replied with a slight stutter.
As you stood in line with Chanyeol, you tried to get to know him better and found out that he was in band and liked to play guitar. His eyes lit up when you had told him that you enjoyed reading comic books and like superhero movies, which led him to nervously confess that he liked to cosplay as various superheroes from the Marvel universe.
After picking up an old, beat up, grey pair of bowling shoes, you and Chanyeol returned to your reserved bowling lane and looked at the selection of multicolored bowling balls. He ended up picking up a black bowling ball with sparkles and you chose a yellow bowling ball that was just the right weight for you.
Once the first few frames kicked, you realized that both you and Chanyeol were terrible at bowling. Chanyeol’s ball was constantly rolling through the gutter and your bowling ball would always near the pins and then at the last second dip into the gutter.
“It seems like these pins are on strike tonight,” Chanyeol said. You laughed at his horrible pun and Chanyeol felt his self-confidence skyrocket. The moment he had laid his eyes on you he found you to be so beautiful and he wasn’t sure that you’d end liking an awkward and dorky guy like himself, although Sehun had reassured him several times that he was your type. “Why should bowling alleys be quiet?”
“Why?”
“So you can hear a pin drop.” You leaned into Chanyeol as you laughed at his bowling pun. In the back of your mind you made sure to remind yourself to thank Sehun for setting you up with someone with such a good sense of humor.
The date with Chanyeol progressed with ease and you were both taken aback when the manager of the bowling alley had come to ask you both to leave since it was closing time. With heavy hearts, you both put your coats on and slowly made your way out of the alley, reluctant to let this date come to a close, since it was too late to go out to eat. As Chanyeol walked you to your car, you swore you could feel his fingertips reaching for your hand. Being the go-getter that you were, you reached for Chanyeol’s hand and looked up to see him trying, and failing, to suppress a smile on his face and when you reached your car, you could feel Chanyeol tense.
“I had lots of fun with you, Chanyeol,” you wistfully said.
“M-me t-too,” he said, his fingers still intertwined with yours. It was silent for a few moments, his brown eyes gazing into your eyes. His eyes were masked with longing and uncertainty. “I-I.”
You reached up to kiss Chanyeol, knowing very well that he was going to be too nervous to make a move. His lips gently pressed against your lips, with his hands holding on to your waist. The kiss was awkward, just like him, but you didn’t mind it one bit. With your back pressed against the driver’s side of your car, Chanyeol’s body close to yours, you set out to make sure this wouldn’t be the last time that you see Chanyeol.
Pairings: Kyungsoo/Jongin

Genre: angst, romance, soulmate!au
Warnings: bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, implied suicide, implied self-harm, mental health negativity, cursing (more to come)

Soulmates can now feel each other's emotions. They find it cute. Kyungsoo thinks it's bullshit, especially that he's experiencing a second wave bipolar disorder.
Sehun was delegated to only stirring the batter again. And only while sitting at the counter.
It’s not that he minds only mixing, he doesn’t. He’s really always the kind to get others to do any work he doesn’t have to. He’d just hoped that when Junmyeon walked into their apartment, all smiles and shiny cheeks and bubbling enthusiasm, saying he really wanted to try a new cake recipe that he’d have the chance to be a bit closer to his boyfriend while he’s in such a good mood. Sehun can’t even remember what the name of the recipe was but he saw strawberries and that’s all it takes to get him excited too.
Sehun mulls over his assignment to the counter while he stirs the batter steadily in the way Junmyeon had shown him before turning to prepare the oven pans and start on the frosting on his own. It’s gotta be Jongin’s fault that he’s basically been banned from trying to help more. It’s not really his fault that the last time Junmyeon and Kyungsoo had tried baking together that Jongin had gotten into the vanilla frosting. And it definitely wasn’t his fault that he’d flicked a little bit at Sehun’s face when he wasn’t paying attention to him (he’d been too busy admiring his boyfriend’s cute butt when he’d bent over to put the pans in the oven). Sehun maintains that he had every right to retaliate against such an offense on his face. How was he supposed to know Jongin was going to start a frosting fight? (ok he may have thrown a little bit more on Jongin the first time than he should have but it still wasn’t completely his fault)
He’s still stirring like Junmyeon said, almost mindlessly but he does check to make sure he’s not going too hard (he doesn’t actually wanna ruin his boyfriend’s fun). But Sehun’s more focused on watching Junmyeon putter away, getting this and that and humming under his breath, still smiling and wow his boyfriend is really cute. Sehun can feel his brain subtly turning to mush as he continues to just watch and for a few moments he really is as hopelessly smitten as Jongin jokes about him being (he likes to think he’s a little bit smoother than that but whatever).
He doesn’t snap out of his musings until Junmyeon’s turning to him with a smile and shit he can feeling his cheeks heating up. Junmyeon’s smile turns into a knowing little smirk and before Sehun can even get a word out, Junmyeon dips one of his own fingers into the batter and brings it to his lips. He’s frozen as Junmyeon licks his finger clean with a soft hum, murmuring a quiet, “It’s good.”
Sehun doesn’t get much time to react before Junmyeon’s plucking the bowl from his hands and leaving a quick peck on his mouth before turning away. He licks lips as he watches his boyfriend walk away, still utterly smitten, and hums to himself as well, “Ahh, it is good.”

“nah. it’s fine,” jongdae stifles a yawn, pushing himself upright. the clock on his bedside table informing him in blinding red that it was almost 3 in the morning. “are you alright?”
“yeah.”
“... you sure?”
“... no.”
“okay. do... you want to talk about it?”
“not really.”
“mmhmm. i’ll just stay on the line, okay?”
“okay,” he hears baekhyun shifting, breath slow and measured to calm himself down. “thank you, jongdae-yah.”
jongdae pulls his blanket close, snuggling into the warmth it provided. “don’t mention it.”
it only happens when they’re back behind stage, within the privacy of the chaos that comes with the rush of crew members making sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be.
it’s a messy kiss, one with clashing teeth, too much tongue and overall excitement. it’s a kiss that ends too fast, they don’t have the time to have anything more but this stolen kiss.
“nobody has to know, right?” baekhyun glances at him as he combs his fingers through his hair in an attempt to bring the wreck of his hair back to some semblance of neatness.
minseok spares him a glance. his own hair neat due to the fact that baekhyun couldn’t touch his hair, not when minseok kept a tight grip on his wrists. “nobody does.”

#3. Buy matching obelisks
“This is so stupid,” you said as you looked down at the bustling city. Cars rushed by and people attached to their phones passed without a second thought. Indeed it was a sight to behold.
“It’s not stupid. Your face is stupid,” Sehun said.
You rolled your eyes at his childish and pathetic comeback. Feeling impatient, you began to tap your foot on to the top of building that you stood on alongside Sehun.
“He’s late,” you commented.
“He’s always late, Y/N. I don’t know why you’re surprised that he’s not here yet,” Sehun said as he kicked his foot up in the air.
“I’m not surprised, I’m just disappointed,” you replied as you folded your arms against your chest.
“Well maybe you need to stop having expectations of Jongdae, or lower your standards,” Sehun retorted. Now it was your time to roll your eyes at his remark.
“He’s being doing this for millennia; it shouldn’t be that hard for him to be on time for a purchase,” you complained.
“Well that’s where you’re wrong,” a voice chimed in from behind you and Sehun. You turned to see Jongdae grinning at the sight of your impatience. “It is hard for me to come to appointments on time.”
Jongdae donned a pair of khaki shorts with a green polo and by itself the ensemble was alright, but on top of his shorts and polo, Jongdae wore a long dark brown overcoat that most definitely did not match his outfit. The worst offender of Jongdae’s clothing was the bright orange pair of crocs that he wore. Despite being boyishly handsome, Jongdae had a terrible sense of fashion. No amount of dark brown curly hair or smirking would save him from that horrendous outfit.
“Are you done staring?” Jongdae asked you.
“I wish,” you retorted. Sehun snorted at your comeback and attempted to stifle his laughter by covering his mouth with this hand. “It’s hard to look away from those crocs.”
“Deal with it, sweetheart,” Jongdae nonchalantly replied. “The crocs are a part of who I am.”
“Y/N, Jongdae, we aren’t here to talk about how terrible your fashion is,” Sehun said gesturing to Jongdae’s outfit.
“Right,” Jongdae said as he clapped his hands. “Your here to get a matching pair of obelisks.”
“What?” You asked in confusion. “I thought you were going to buy just one obelisk,” you continued to say, your body facing Sehun.
“Where’s the fun in getting one obelisk? I thought we should get matching obelisks,” Sehun said. You tilted your head to the side in confusion, uncertain what to make of Sehun’s half-assed excuse.
“Honestly it’s about damn time you two got together,” Jongdae remarked. “I thought I was going to have to wait centuries before you two started dating.”
“We-we’re not dating,” you stuttered, as you tried to hide the growing blush on your cheeks.
“Sure, sweetheart. And I’m not a deity that has been selling priceless artifacts since before the construction of the Great Pyramids,” Jongdae retorted.
You looked to Sehun for clarification, but unsurprisingly he didn’t say anything more towards Jongdae’s comments. It would be a lie for you to say that you didn’t like like Sehun, but you never knew how to begin a romantic relationship with him. No matter the many millenia you had known him, Sehun still felt like an unsolved mystery.
Jongdae looked from your bewildered expression to Sehun’s stoic facial expression and sighed. “Let’s do this deal another time, alright? You two still have got a lot of stuff to figure out. Neither of you are in a position to buy matching obelisks.”
And without another second wasted, Jongdae vanished into thin air, leaving behind the tense atmosphere. You stared at Sehun and you couldn’t help but admire how well he looked in a white button down shirt, sleeves rolled to his elbows with a black pair of slacks. He was certainly a sight to behold.
“Is this a date, Sehun?” you quietly asked.
“If it was you wouldn’t be asking that question.”
“Do you want this to be a date?”
Sehun sighed and walked to you until his body was just centimeters from your body. “I want every time that we go out together to be a date, Y/N.”
Yours widened and you almost took a step back in shock, but you didn’t want to move away from Sehun, you wanted to be closer to him.
“I know it’s taken me a few thousand years to say this, but I really really like you, Y/N,” Sehun confessed.
“It’s okay. It’s taken me a few thousand years too to say that I really really like you,” you replied with a big smile.
Sehun pressed his soft lips against your lips and in that moment the bustling city disappeared along with any doubt you had. After he pulled away to get some air, he leaned his head against your forehead and held you close to his body.
