I noticed something today....
The way that I view things, I would be blamed (and HAVE BEEN--mind you) as being part of the reason that sexism against women is still raging.
For those of you who don't know me, Hi. My name is Jane but I mostly go by Hilly if you know me on Skype.I'm a 21 year old cisgendered heterosexual female. And according to others I'm against equal rights for women.
Bear with me on this. I am ALL FOR women (cis or trans or hetero or homo etc) doing whatever the fuck they want just as I believe the same for men (cis or trans or hetero or homo etc) so long as what they're doing isn't hurting anyone. Women can wear pants, Men can wear skirts and dresses.
I personally prefer dresses and skirts. I want to wear them and would prefer to wear them if my uniform would allow (sadly this is not the case with my current job) I like wearing makeup and love wearing blouses and shirts that show off one of the few assets I actually LIKE about my body, my breasts.
My dream job? Being a stay at home wife. I want to cook and clean for my husband. I want to be a stay at home mom that raises a family.
I want the "white picket fence life" for lack of a better phrase.
I want a husband that dotes on me and that I dote on in return, I want to not really have to worry about having to go to work because my job is at home, keeping the place clean, the children fed, and making my husband happy. When my husband comes home, I want to welcome him home with a hot meal and a kiss.
Now on the other side of the coin.
Men can want the same things that I want. With their wives/husbands/partners/lovers etc. They have every right to be a stay at home whatever they want to be. Women can wear pants simply because it's comfortable. Women deserve equal rights and pay to men. EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED FAIRLY AND EQUALLY REGARDLESS OF THEIR AGE, GENDER, HOW THEY IDENTIFY, WHAT COLOR THEY ARE, SIZE, RELIGION ETC.
....And yet little ol' me over here just wanting to be a wife and mother is somehow setting back the feminist movement and helping deny equal rights to women....
I'm still not quite sure how that works...
