Look, I hate all that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" bullshit. High school is a shit time for girls everywhere, and it's particularly cruel to girls who are smart. Girls who speak up. Girls who don't buy sexist shit. I'm not saying it gets better when you get older. The same fears and scars are something we can't change and they will always haunt you in some way. But eventually, your pain can make to wiser. You don't have to give up your empathy or compassion towards others, even others that wound you. You learn that their hatred and mistreatment of you is because of their own lacking, not yours. It is not an easy journey but it is value, and it gives you value.
