Experiment 6: Using the fabric dye I painted boat motifs onto damp fabric. This helped the dye sink into the fabric.
With the orange boats, the fabric wasn’t rung throughly therefore, there was leakage of colour from the painted lines. The fabric squares that the blue boats were painted on was only damp, so the leaking of colour did not happen.
Experiment 6
Since the editing process of my experimental film has now started, I am currently experimenting with the edit. At this moment, I am experimenting with the combination of shots and sound. I am trying to figure out how to make a sound design which will blend with the footage itself, using sound effects and music to appropriately deliver what I’m trying to express. Most of all I am experimenting with the sound being used beneath the colours footage, which will symbolise the girl’s confusing thoughts.
Assessment 3, Experiment 6 This was going off my post on the art of bonsai, and is a follow up of my experimentation with wire. I wanted to figure out which would be a better method to use for my final work which would be a bonsai-inspired object, so I played around with wrapping wire around a vine/branch and bending it - this shaped really well. On the contrary, I also tried to wrap the vine/branch around the already-made wire teapot from experiment 2. That didn’t look so great, so I think I’ll stick with the first method of winding wire around the plant.
