Look, sorry Childe, but the Scaramouche simping is so ingrained in me that I would recognize Scara no matter what kinda torture mind wipe experiments Dottore puts me through. Scaramouche simping is a subconcious trait, Childe may have saved me but Scara gave me life. Mind wiped, only Scara left. Reached him in the end, all worth it. (in the dottore experiment au)
Just another small drabble. Hope you like it!
They didn't know what to say.
The moment your eyes laid upon Scaramouche, you struggled to get out of Childe's arms, Delusion pulsing in your chest. Whines escaped your throat and you reached out a hand, tears in your eyes.
You knew him.
Despite the emptiness in your memories, you knew him. The discarded, original puppet. The Harbinger that was always so harsh to anyone else.
"Kunikuzushi-"
His real name left your lips and the Balladeer froze, unable to believe his ears. It has been a long time since anyone last spoke the name he was given after his creation, adapting to Scaramouche. He thought it had been forgotten, lost to time. If anyone remembered, it would only be the Guuji and the Raiden Shogun.
But here you were, the creator, memories whipped clean. Except for him, it seemed.
Childe was loathe to let you go. He was supposed to be your safe haven, your happy place, your guard. So then why were you reaching out for someone else, when you were already in his arms?
"Your Grace..."
"Kunikuzushi", you repeated, blank eyes focused on the indigo-haired puppet.
Tears gathered in Childe's eyes and he bent down, arms unwrapping from your frail form. You stumbled as your bare feet touched the cold tiled floor, holding onto the ginger for a second before rushing to the Balladeer.
Your arms were thrown around him and he almost fell, hadn't he prepared himself to catch your weight, so much weaker than he liked. His arms embraced you, holding tight onto your waist as you clung to him.
A happy sigh escaped your lips and you closed your eyes, tension releasing, your face snuggled into the crook of his shoulder.
"Zushi..."
No, the Harbingers and their Archon didn't know what to think.
But they took it as a sign that you weren't completely gone. There was still a chance to heal you.
And Scaramouche? He vowed to never let you go again, to protect you, no matter the cost.
