Before you poo-poo this recording here are some fun facts:

It was recorded in 1924 by none other than Thomas Edison! 

In 1912 he opened the recording studio Thomas A. Edison, Inc.

He closed shop in 1929 due to declining sales in the "entertainment phonograph business"

This recording was made using an experimental 125ft. long recording horn

I love that I can listen to history; this is exactly what was heard in 1924, and it is still alive.  I wonder what good ol' Tommy would think of the recording industry today...

This is my 2-minute sound project for Time Studio. The assignment was to record something for the future inhabitants of Earth 100,000 years from now. The voices and the violin playing are all done by me, and edited by me in Audacity. The song is called Simple Gifts, and I believe it's an old Shaker hymn. You might have to turn your volume up just a bit, sorry about that!
