Ashes to Ashes by Karina Halle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was the scariest book yet...
I raised my plastic cup. "To the thing that hurts you most. To the paranormal and to never being normal."
This was a solid 4.5 stars. I loved this book. There was only one issues I had with it, which I will get to later, but that accounts for the missing half point. This was actually kind of scary, and I managed to scare myself multiple times while reading it. The creepy kids, that bouncing ball, the bad thing... so freaking eerie. I loved every second of it.
"You... make me feel sane in this crazy world. You give me hope. You give me life. When I'm with you, I cant even believe I'm with you. Its like that every morning. Like I'm dreaming, but I m not."
I also enjoyed watching Dex and Perrys relationship continue to grow. It took so long for it to get to this point, and I am so happy with where its going! Rebecca was with us through this book, and who knows where that drama will end up! Also, I was really looking forward to seeing Ada but we only did for like, a minute! UGH. The end was.... fucked up. Like, crazy. What a huge cliffhanger!! I need to know what happens with Perrys mom, and what the hell is going to happen to Dex and Perry!
So the thing that frustrated me was Dex and the most inappropriate timing in the world. The book could have been called that. Seriously. The sex and other sentimental moments were so fucking badly placed and I just couldn't get over it! As much as I love those moments between them, its just a small thing that aggravated the hell out of me.
But aside from that, everything was amazing and scary and exciting and dramatic! Just what I love about these books. I am so scared to read the last one because then it will be over!
