Ender rarely gets any visitors these days, but when he senses another being cross into his realm, he can't help but get up to check it out. He peers out of the fog behind some trees, looming from the dark, "Can I help you...?" All that's visible are his eyes and the glowy bits in his 'hair' and horns.
The stress of the current situation was putting it lightly. Jake couldn’t imagine what several years of being chased by killers and sacrificed to fear gods would do to the human stress response.
Jake finally relented and climbed onto the bed. Compared to what he usually had to deal with, this whole Entity-check-up situation was practically soothing.
“So what are you getting out of this, anyway?” Jake asked once he was settled. “I can’t imagine my blood pressure is all that interesting.”
Exy is walking around the beach checking in on his guests, when he see's Yoichi.
"Ahh Mr Asakawa, good to see you." he gives Yoichi the once over.
"The purple is very fitting." he gives an appraising tug to the shirt sleeve as if he's testing the fabric. @experimentity
“Ah! Exy-San!” Yoichi perked up, nodding his head toward the man with a smile. “Ahaha thank you! I see you are looking quite ready for the waters too haha”
"Ahh Mr Winters, I have been looking around for you." A very tall man wearing what appears to be a mad scientists outfit approaches Ethan. Coming out of his back is familliar looking claws.
"I have a proposal for you, I could given a small bit of time make your body whole again. I don't think I would be able to fully undo your condition, but I could give you back full use of your hand and fingers. Remove any scars." He says thoughtfully.
"In return you would just have to assist me with my various experiments, I am in need of someone to do filing and clerical work." Exy gives him a smile. @experimentity
Ethan paused and looked at his mutilated hand, flexing the remaining digits. Having the rest of his fingers would be nice, might make it less of a challenge not to explode every generator he touches. The rest of his body was fine, stiff maybe in the cold but the mold and damaged joints did that sometimes.
The blonde glanced back at the....thing and cocked a brow. "In a hypothetical situation where I do say yes to your proposition, besides the mundane clerical shit and filing what else would you be dragging my ass into," he scoffed.
Knuckles cracked as he flexed his hands, the black stain stretching up his pale arms. "Because I just got done dealing freaks like you, and I don't wanna accept an offer blindly. I can do everything with eight fingers just fine if I don't see a reason accept."

Jake’s head was spinning. Thousands? At least? Maybe even infinite?
It didn’t make any sense. Jake was never particularly… good at this whole big picture thing, but an infinite number of Entities didn’t sound right at all.
“That…” It was possible Exy was lying to him, but that didn’t change the fact that he was clearly… Entity adjacent, at least. What did that mean for him?
As he tried to wrap his mind around that, the whispers in his mind died down some. There were memories there he had forgotten—Networks stretching out like spider’s silk, a universe so much larger than he could have ever imagined. Fog and doorways to other worlds and a splitting…
The whispers were silent now and Jake felt dazed. He lifted his knife unthinkingly, allowing Exy to examine it and sketch it down.
What was it he’d asked? “Why? I don’t… I don’t know.” Another memory surfaced. A conversation had in a small cabin. Tidbits and details picked up over time. “…To get fear from the killers. Punish them for complacency, cockiness. Bring them back in line.”
Jake furrowed his brow. That didn’t seem right. Was that actually what the Entity wanted from his role? Or was that just what he decided on at some point? The memories were fading again and it was hard to tell.
But he was a little more aware now. Jake pulled his knife back, holding it protectively to his chest. “Okay, my turn. What do you want from us?”
