Kingdom Hearts Protip
As I fall into the hole that is Kingdom Hearts, I’ve decided on a whim to obtain the arbitrary trophies on the PS4 version of said game. After spending way too much time on my first play through grinding for materials for the elusive Ultima Weapon keyblade, I believe I found the perfect spot to power level Sora.
While looking at guides on the web, I found a whole lot of terrible advice on where one should grind the exp in the later half of the game. So here I am to inform you of my findings as I work through my second play through to get three trophies on easy mode.
The best place I found was the Gizmo Shop in Traverse Town for multiple of reasons. (Apparently it’s also a good spot early on.)
After you have visited Hollow Bastion for the first time, many of the enemies in every world become tougher. In the Gizmo Shop several waves of enemies appear that give decent exp. On top of that it’s an enclosed space where you could hit multiple enemies at once.
On one suggestion I read that the deck of Caption Hooks ship was ideal but I disagree completely. Sure a lot of the enemy waves do appear but they fly around too much and a lot of the time is spent chasing them. If you want speed leveling, Gizmo Shop does better.
As an added bonus, it’s also a great spot to hunt crystal materials as well looking for the weapon drops for Goofy and Donald. For every Strength point gained, defeating the waves becomes easier and you gain levels quicker. And the enemies drop mp bubbles so you can also spam abilities to cut down the time from each wave.
During my first play through on normal mode, I found that I gained 10 levels within an hour with this method, granted I had two exp boost items equipped and chose the leveling path where I level faster after level 50, still I found this method quite impressive with the speed.
Lastly, you don’t really need to have encounter plus equipped to do this. I found all you really need to do to reset the spawns was go into the red room in the hotel and jump over an enemy or two in the process.
If you found this helpful in your own descent into completionist territory for Kindgom Hearts 1.5, I’m glad I could be of some help to you.
