Gonna go watch the Sex, Explained mini docuseries on Netflix now.
Moved over to watching Explained, on Netflix.
Just finished the one about the gender pay gap and I'm struck by the point not made.
They talk about how folk(typically women) who care for kids end up with fewer opportunities for advancement in their careers, and how that impacts how much they earn. The point there was "we need to create a culture where it is normal for both men and women to take on child care, to even that gap".
But even if you even out that gap... You saying that folk with children are paid less over all. You're saying that those with more people to care for with the money they make will have less money than those who choose not to.
Why are we putting one of our most vulnerable groups(children) directly in the path of poverty?
I hate capitalism.
Watching Vox’s new limited series on Netflix, Coronavirus: Explained. I’m only a few minutes in but so far it’s worth the watch. It’s talking about pandemics and viruses in general and now the spread - not just the current one. Very informative and educational. So far worth the watch.
Watching mini documentaries, doing a face mask and painting my fingers and toes.
I’d like to think I’m a good mix of brains and beauty.
