We've released another job for Headless Swarm and made some long-needed enhancements.

We've updated Exploit: Zero Day as part of our Alpha Two phase of development. Changes: Systems that are locked should now link to their parent cluster if you try to visit them. Systems that are locked no longer show in system lists. The server should no longer accept systems containing index nodes (a node from the original Exploit that no longer exists) Job emails now link to the new message. When a new message arrives in a job, the page now scrolls to it. Systems matrices are now centered...

This release adds some polish and improvements to the user experience.

We've deployed an update to Exploit: Zero Day, our cyberthriller game with a living story where you roleplay as a hacker by making and solving puzzles.

This update adds system and cluster rating, which will let you find the kind of puzzles you're interested in. Are you looking for Challenging puzzles to test your skills? Creative puzzles that have interesting story or artsy designs? Clever puzzles that show what's possible to create in the editor? The ratings will let you find them and rate puzzles that you want others to find.

Exploit: Zero Day is a game about hacktivism. We cast players into the role of hacktivists fighting for justice against monolithic corporations and governments. In doing so, we portray hacktivism as necessary, effective, and even (to some extent) glamorous. But to treat it too lightly would be to ignore the fraught and troubled nature of the beast. As game designers, we have a responsibility to make our works as enriching as is practical. In this case, to do so we must provide an honest and complete portrayal of hacktivism.

Hacktivism is a complicated topic, and we need to make sure that we address it carefully in Exploit: Zero Day. In this blog post, Gregory discusses the morality behind hacktivism and how to treat it properly in our game.
