Exploring Graphic Communication.
Part 01: For the first part of this module we were asked to research and develop a group presentation and present this to the class. We were given a A-Z list of practitioners and asked to pick one each and asked to gather research about the artists and discuss why we liked the work of the artist/designer that we had chosen. I picked Gemma Correll because I liked her illustration work, she designs a lot of cards and books. We then all added our slides together and presented it to the group. We also added a quiz at the end of the presentation to see what people had taken in from what we were talking about, even though I hate talking in front of people I enjoyed this part of the module.
Part 02: For the second part of this module we were asked to research further into an area of creative practice, I decided that I wanted to look into illustration and also researched outside of the A-Z list of artists/designers. I decided that for my design brief I was going to create a vinyl cover that was based on classical music that would appeal to a younger generation or someone who wasn’t interest in classical music. Every week we brought in our ideas/ research and discussed in a small group about what we wanted to create, then they would assess our ideas and tell us how we could improve our work or if they liked the ideas generated.
Part 03: For the third part of this module we were then asked to produce the work that we had set ourselves, we all met in small seminar groups to discuss how we were getting on. These were really helpful as we could see how other people were getting on and also that other people would give feedback on how they feel your project is also going on. I researched a lot into album covers and vinyl designs that I thought would work well with my project. Then finally we were asked to write a small evaluation and submit that online to discuss everything we thought about this project.
