    she’s moving before she can even think, shoving people as she darts towards the danger instead of away.

    she’s yelling, practically pleading with them to run, frantic when they don’t seem to be listening to her.

    she’s flinging herself around the toy without a clear thought or plan - she just needs to keep anyone else from dying.

    she’s tugging at her powers just in time to shift reality so she’s taking most of the damage. she can’t stop it all - the sound, the blast that was sure to knock people back forcefully enough they could be hurt - but she could shift things enough that she’d take in all the flames and shrapnel.

        she knows she’s dead and yet all she can think, surrounded by screams and the wailing of sirens, is that it wasn’t the worst way she’d died. the most reckless, maybe - definitely the grossest. but it had been fast, which was a pretty big improvement on most of the other times. still, hovering there over what was left of her own body eris knew it’d be at least a few days before she was back on her feet, which meant she’d be useless...unless she wasn’t. she could get into places, flit about the city - she could watch, and if she found anything maybe she could reach out.
