18% Grey - White
For this exercise we had to take images on something white, in this case white paper folded on white paper
The camera doesn’t see the white as white, but as 18% grey, so in order to show the white in an image, to see in an image what the eye sees, we must compensate the exposure by increasing it prior to taking the picture.
In this case the camera wouldn’t focus on just the white paper so I added a folded sheet on top to give some substance, something for the camera to focus on.
Below you will see a set of 3 images in one.
The first is set at 0 in the exposure compensator, the next at +1 and the third at +2. As you can see with each setting the paper becomes more white.
