LYFT App | Driver Dashboard & Payment
I get a lot of questions about the Lyft App as a Driver after my Mentor sessions with my mentees. Therefore I’m simply going to break it down through this post to give anyone who is just starting out as a Lyft driver, or who has been driving for a while and needs a friendly reminder on how to get paid.
DRIVER MODE TO PASSENGER MODE
Let me start off with the basics, which is turning your Lyft app to DRIVER MODE from passenger mode. Once you get a approved the word LYFT on your screen will change into a button of a steering wheel and it will either say “OFF” or “ON” this will determine if you are off or on driver mode. Once you go online to driver mode the waiting game will begin. Don’t worry request will start coming in. As soon as you know it you will be getting ride requests one right after the other, and meeting new people along the way.
I do highly suggest you go over you “Ride Walkthrough” while you’re waiting to get approved to get familiar with how to accept ride request.
Once you get approved Lyft will give you another menu tab called “Driver Dashboard” this is where you can keep track of your daily and weekly rides, express pay, Power Drive Bonuses. and your Peak Hour chart. You want to make sure that you know and understand this page as this will helps you keep track of your progress for the week. (photo(s) below)
Your “RIDE PAYMENTS” is how much the rider(s) paid. This amount is NOT how much you get. Lyft still needs to deduct their portion from the ride payments. Therefore! The amount in “Express Pay” would be how much you get. However, here is where it gets kinda confusing. When looking at your Express Pay please keep in mind the
Bonuses are not Included (given at the end of the week in your Direct Deposit)
Passenger Tips (This is sometimes not processes right away)
Therefore, the amount of your Rider Payments will differ from your Express Pay.
If you decide to not use Express Pay then you earnings will given through your direct deposit. They will send you your earning summary every week. There you will see the breakdown on how much you earned. (photo(s) below)
One of the most important info you need to know is how to setup your Direct Deposit!
Go to your Driver Dashboard menu
Click on “TAX INFO & PAYMENT” link. There is where all your info about your taxes will be at as well.
Scroll down and you will see the “BANK INFO” and “DEBIT CARD INFO” here is where you are going to put all your information to get paid. Please make sure you enter all the info correctly. Then BAM! You’re all set! (photo(s) below)
