Atlanta artist Granddad Woolly first caught my eye with his soulful tape released late last year, The Vanilla Tape. The intro “Just A Conversation With Myself” set a tone for Granddad Woolly’s raps and proved re-play value in traditional rap was still a thing.
I was psyched when I saw he released an EP titled EXPRMNTS I-VI with Portugese producer CHIKANO, showcasing a more gritty, lo-fi/hi-fi sound for Granddad Woolly to experiment different flows and cadences over. I’m always happy to spotlight progression and this EP is no different, pay however much you would like for it at the MC’s bandcamp and follow him on Twitter here.
