More pointed question about your D&D WIP if you don't have anything general to share--if you had to title it at this stage, what title would you give it? : )
Hiya!
So, as I've said in the previous ask, the D&D WIP is actually made by different WIPs in the same document — so I'll try to break them down and give to each of them their own title.
• The Adler & Tamarie WIP, aka the one who started it all: despite it bring the most well thought-out, I struggle with this one the most. In itself, it's a simple father-daughter vignette showing a little incident in Tamarie's past, but it also shines a light on how her adoptive father was with her, and why she clings to his memory so much.
There's also an interesting contrast between Adler's behaviour and her biological mother's one: we already know from Tamarie's now half-brother Jiwan ( @apolloniuskingoftyre) that Alfirin's been nothing but neglectful towards him... And apparently, she's the same way with Tamarie too. Still, as for now I have no idea how to call this. I thought of something with the words "bond" or "tie", but I'm not satisfied. Guess only time will tell 🤷🏻
• The Tamarie/Saskia WIP: another vignette, a post-canon one, meant to explore their relationship. Look, I want them to get together and fuck nasty, but that's not entirely dependent on me (the DM talked about a possibility of her becoming an enemy, so...). But fanfics exist for a reason, and that's me kind of giving them their happy ending.
Saskia (created by @headofmars) is a character I adore. She's had a really rough history that has left her full of doubt and self-hatred, unsure she'll ever be loved again, and this reflects very clearly. Tamarie, in contrast, is self-assured and bold, but hides her pain: Saskia has, therefore, only seen one part of her. The fic was meant to show how willing Tamarie is to show Saskia her more fragile side in a moment where the latter is happier and more content with herself.
The title I've thought for this snippet is "You". Plain and simple, yet poignant, inspired by this song. I don't know who's this "you" the singer is talking about, but the lyric and something about their bittersweet nature makes this song perfect for the couple (and this fic).
• Last but not least, there's Tamarie's personal impressions on one of the places she has visited during the campaign. Nothing fancy, just her opinions on things like the climate, flowers, fashion and possible business opportunities (she makes her living as a merchant, after all). Those are just called "From Tamarie Laughlin's personal notes". Prosaic? Maybe, but they were never meant to be shared, after all.
Hope you liked this detour! Feel free to contact me if there's anything more you want to know!
