Kathryn leaned back against the seat of the rented car, a small smirk tugging at the corner of her lip as the movie flashed colours across the planes of Nate's face. The night was pleasant, a soft breeze brushing against her skin now and then, not overly dominate. And the afternoon's heat still lingered even as the sky shifted into a picture of a star cast night. It'd been one of those impromptu outings they'd both become seemingly fond of.
Sometimes it was nice to just relax in the presence of someone she could choose silence or in-depth conversation with. Tonight, they'd chosen that quiet, but as her legs began to bounce, she realised her mind was drifting.
And that didn't happen in the presence of Matthew Mconaughay in an interstellar showing. "Do you think we'll ever accomplish interstellar travel?" She whispered, unable to stop herself as she leaned over. As stealth as she'd been in her work, she had none now. Maybe it was just the excuse to talk — get out of her own head.
