Ain't It Funny?

It's funny how someone can be such a huge part of your life at one point and then become nothing but a nice memory later. I used to like this boy when I was in high school. Well, actually, I loved him. He was my first love. We got along really well but like almost every first loves, it eventually had to end. It took me a long time just to get over things and get to a place where I didn't miss him anymore, if not only once in a while. So, I found myself laughing at my creepy self, googling an ex I hadn't seen nor talked to in forever. I am astounded at myself for what I did, but prouder still because I really am no longer in love; not with him nor our past. Part of me would always care about him still. That I can't really deny, but it's more of how you'd care about an old friend, or someone you grew up with (which we did and didn't long ago) no matter how many years pass. I used to think that I'll always be in love with him, that time and other boys will pass me by and still I'd end up with him. But I feel different now. He was meant to be a chapter in my life that needs to close to give way to the one who'd close my story with me (if I'm lucky). Ain't it funny how things have, but could still, change?
