imagine you're an uber driver. and this one group of friends has been getting you to drive them around all over the place, which is your job, but it seems like you're the only uber driver they ever interact with, and they go to some pretty weird places, so you end up getting to know them pretty well. well enough that one day you end up realizing you actually met the mom of one of them, which is pretty cool!! you talk to her about it and it turns out her mom has since died which sucks and also the conversation is really awkward so you offer to take them to their next destination (vegas) for free. while you're on the road your car breaks down so you spend like three days camped out on the side of the highway fixing your car. some of them are pretty good at engineering which you would NOT have expected looking at them. eventually you manage to get them to hawaii, which is the closest stop to vegas you can make by car. and like, at this point, you know these people. they're nice. and you've always wanted to go to vegas, so you ask to tag along while they make the rest of the journey on foot. they agree to let you come with, and you kind of end up naturally assimilating into the group. it turns out they're on a journey to save the planet from destruction and you end up joining them for that too because you would prefer the planet remains un-destroyed and these guys aren't the worst travelling companions in the world. you have to fight a dead war hero. you are, critically, an uber driver.
