Benji was in a world of his own, his brain switching between working a thousand miles a minute and switching off entirely. The chill in the air was almost beyond him now, his entire body numb through the layers of clothes that they had scrambled to get together, and the dried blood on his head had now become crusted, the pain all but gone. Or was it just numbed too? He wasn't entirely sure how long they had been there, time having become somewhat irrelevant since the crash.
He was snapped back to reality when he felt the presence beside him, Ethan having sat back down, and in that moment it was as though he had been craving the closeness. The pilot had long passed, his body now buried beneath layers of snow, and the co-pilot who had double crossed them had been disposed of. It was just them, and as each minute passed, Benji began to wonder if they were going to make it out of this alive. Instinctively, he shuffled closer to Ethan, not saying a word as he pressed up against the older man's side, and there was a feeling of relief that washed over him when he felt an arm wrapping around him. It encouraged him to lean in further, head resting on Ethan's shoulder as he tried his best to keep warm. They needed to keep whatever heat they could while it lasted, and despite the rock formation blocking out most of the wind, the chill was still in the air.
They just had to hope that someone would find them before it was too late. But if dying by Ethan's side was how it would end for him, Benji would accept it.
