Passenger Evaluation
Passenger - Year 2
Similar to the NHS brief, this one was a challenge and a new experience. I definitely appreciate that it was a collaboration with another course but people from the same year (in our group at least). When we got the brief I was a bit like, uh okay. That is hmmm. Interesting.... Because designing a stand is something I had never really considered before, also because I usually really don’t like trade shows and stuff like that. But it turned out to be rather fun.
On the first day we talked about the brief and what initial ideas we had in mind. We then went off, did individual research and looked for inspiration and then shared our findings the next day. Jasmine, our interior student created a nice mood board and visualised our ideas in sketch up.
A difficulty we had was that our group was quite big and it felt like there was less to do for us viscom students and more for the interior architecture students which didn’t make sense considering it was one interior student and 5 viscom students in my group. At times some of us felt really useless as there wasn’t enough for each individual to work on. Also, on two days we had to work on our own as our interior student was off ill which made it a lot more difficult. She still worked from home which was really helpful but just communicating everything turned out to be somewhat difficult.
Our final outcome differed from the others, it definitely stood out. There were some things that needed more consideration but we did not have the technical knowledge and would have had to do some proper research into each material and sizes and stuff. I really like our concept though!
