“ shhh! i’m hidin’ from josephine, so you -- you didn’t see nothin’. just close the door, and maybe block it so she can’t come in --- ah, please? i’m too young to die today, dorian. ”
"Some people don't deserve forgiveness."
Oh, how thankful she was to the Maker that he made him stand behind her back for this short moment, making it impossible for him to see her face. The real face of a regretting mother, the one she should never make. “Such wise words, for such a young man.” She finally spoke, as soon as she was perfecty sure of the control she had over her own voice, perfectly sure that it wouldn’t break as soon as the words would left her throat. His dark eyes, so similar to her own, she couldn’t bear how he seamed devastated. The life has never been easy for him, for her boy, for her own blood and flesh. Oh, how she wanted to take some of this weight off his shoulders. “Dorian, my boy, you are back home.” She said, her heart beating faster, but her voice blank, just as it always had been, Aquinea was never able to leave the mask of a perfect noblewoman. Calm and cold.

with a grimace and a resigned sort of sigh, eimhin set another book back into its place after barely glancing at the cover. too many books, too many options, too much stress. he’d never had so many choices, not with the dalish and especially not in the circle.
“ no, better question. how do you pick? what if it’s not the right one? what if you waste all your time on one book, just to find out it’s fuckin’ terrible? what if you’re not s’posed to even read it in the first place---? ”
he faltered, grip tightening around the spine of the next book.
“ forget that last one, though. stupid question. the rest still stand. ”

“So...is that check mate?” Ellana asked as she pondered over the chessboard. Ellana had never played chess before coming to the Inquisition; and ever since she played her first game with Cullen, she wanted to learn more.
“Did I win?” she asked with near childlike excitement though, in reality, she was furthest from winning.
