A truly fascinating species -  the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker. The National Geographic once named this the “Elvis” bird! It is a very unusual looking woodpecker and has been classed as one of the largest of the family. This bird is so illusive it is still not confirmed whether it is actually extinct, although that it is thought to be likely.
