So, normally I don't make crossover fanfics/AU's, but crossover in which Somewhere Else turns out to be the forests near Arcadia Oaks, sometime in the nebulous post-Wizards pre-Rise of the Titans period. Out of all the things that Barbara has seen (trolls, aliens, her son turning into a troll, then somehow into a human with changeling abilities he doesn't like to use bc trauma), Martin frantically carrying in a injured John (while having a head injury himself) isn't the weirdest thing she's seen at the clinic. Nor is the weird mist surrounding Martin. Being from another world that had it own apocalypse? Now that's a new one.
John and Martin are very surprised that this new world has supernatural things that aren't inherently evil representations of fear.
All the people from the TMA verse still exist, but most of them are normal humans. ToA!John, Annabelle, and Martin all died young. Elias and Sasha are both changeling polymorphs who escaped the Janus Order Massacre, and Daisy is a changeling who has been in hiding since the Eternal Night. At least some of the members of the People's Church of the Divine Host might be shadowmancers, with Maxwelle Rayner having some skill w/possession.
Also, some characters are easier shoo-ins for avatars than others.
Claire, of course, would be tempted by the Dark and be terrified of becoming something she's not bc of Morgana-based-trauma
Bellroc might be pretty good for the Desolation, and Skrael might be pretty good for the Buried, but...
Because all fifteen entities entered the world at once, the Extinction is about as powerful as Smirke's 14 are. Therefore, Bellroc and Skrael might both be Extinction avatars (as long as they're not too concerned with "oh no we hate that there are new gods wanting to destroy humanity we want to be the ones to destroy humanity!!!"). Also good potentials are Gaylen!Krel and, if he doesn't reconnect to the Eye, John
