wanna redo annabelle to be a little more freaky but I had fun with her hair
Episode fifty two, Exceptional Risk. Every episode with Rayner is always so cool, The People's Church deserves more love
Been thinking a lot about Callum Brodie lately because oh my fucking god that kid might just be one of the most tragic characters in tma.
First off, it’s heavily implied that his dad is the prison guard from the statement in episode 52 who encountered Robert Montauk (already setting up a link between him and the Dark). And it’s also outright stated that this guy was abusive, both to the prisoners under his control and his wife (Callum’s mother). So even before all the supernatural shit starts, there’s this instability in Callum’s life— this underlying idea of violence, of wielding the fear and power you have over others, that he’s probably all too familiar with.
That’s when he gets kidnapped by a centuries-old eldritch manifestation of darkness who then tries to possess him. I mean, we know from Jonah and OG Elias just how fucking horrific the whole body-hopping process is for the person getting replaced— imagine what it must have been like for a literal child to experience that. It’s not surprising in the slightest that Callum became an avatar of the Dark after this, even though Rayner’s possession failed. That kind of trauma is just perfect for the entities to feed on.
Then, the eyepocalypse happens and he gets his fear domain, and there’s that super interesting conversation Jon has with him in episode 173:
To me, this is such an incredible portrayal of how cycles of abuse and trauma can be perpetuated. Like this is a kid who’s been through so much fear and pain and suffering. And he inflicts that same suffering on those that he has power over because that’s literally all he’s ever known. He never even stood a chance of escaping it. And, once again, I’d like to emphasise that this is all happening to an actual fucking CHILD jesus christ I am so ill—
Even the blind can see through your lies elias
goodbye to all of them knbahaaaha

TMA Tier List Notes Highlight Reel
In honour of One Year of Avatar Fuckability Tier List, my faves from the notes. Congrats on being the freakiest fandom.
@doyoulikemyswordmydiamondsword and @elloello777 arguing over whether or not a "skinny geezer" is fuckable (I'll let you guess which skinny geezer)
@homo-inferior who referred to Jane Prentiss as "the wasp milf"
@green-tea-crow who suggested that "Elias' dick sucking game" should be "god tier"
Everyone who suggested I should do "dateability" and "threesomes" tier lists (hmm...)
Everyone agreeing that Mike Crewe is an absolute sleeper pick and I was a genius to put him in S Tier
Everyone else demanding justice for Agnes Montague
@the-peoples-church Maxwell Rayner who called me out for presuming that there was no good sex in the 1700s and then thirsted after Raymond Fielding in the tags
@nabil-babbles who laughed so hard at "unfuckable due to bagpipes" that their power went out
Everyone who felt compelled to remind me of ACAB but also admitted that Daisy probably deserves the top spot
@mag184, who said they "need that mannequin carnally more than I need air to breathe"
And of course everyone being so goddamned horny for literally all of them.
Thank you all for your contributions to the discourse research. I feel no shame about putting all of you on blast for being horny on main.
Also shout out to IRL friend @imonlyhereforthefanfic who, when I mentioned that I made the original post, gasped "that was YOU?" and then informed me that I am famous on Magnus Tumblr. So, thanks.

Elsewhere: The Witching Tree - 1
I find it kinda unfair that Maxwell had to do this wholeass ritual thing to try and get a new body and there were so many people needed there meanwhile Jonah just has to put his eyeballs in a different person's sockets?? The second one sounds way easier imo, what is this inequality
