He knows about the resets somewhat of the existence of universes along with timelines, thanks to his brother's last words. His brother told him how to get into the secret lab where sans had notes on other universes and about the resets.
Papyrus trains every day how he can use other monsters' magic thanks to his training with Sans and thanks to magic potions made with some of their dust. It may seem messed up, but it wasn't his idea. He didn't even know. He still doesn't know.
His armour is made from a custom robe based on Asgore's. Still, the colour of Sans hoodie, the actual armour part is made from Undyne's old armour. His helmet is made from one of his brother's blasters. He never used it, so it never disappeared, but once Sans died, instead of going with him, it just shut down along with it being Undyne's armour.
He did make some changes to the shoulder pads and old gauntlets, and on the shoulder pads are two of Undyne's spears fused into the armour. As long as he is alive, those will stay on his arms.
The orange and blue marks on his face are tears stained to his skull. He's cried so much they stained the bone, leaving a permanent mark.
This au takes place in a neutral run where Undyne Mettaton Toriel Asgore and Flowey were killed. Papyrus becomes king in this au Sans collects the human souls for his brother and gives the royal guard credit.
Once they had the seven new human souls, Sans broke the barrier for his brother. If his brother were caught with the souls, he knew there wouldn't be any forgiveness or truth in the last days of the war.
Sans and Alphy's build the timeline machine. If an item from another universe or timeline were placed in a slot, anyone who is inside the device would be taken to another timeline. Unfortunately, they didn't get to finish it, but Papyrus managed to.
Another thing that happened in the last days of the war is along with all the adult monsters being killed, and they showed no mercy. Human children beat up on the monster children. The humans only spared Papyrus because of what his brother told them, and because he had no L.V., he had not hurt a single human in the war, which he regrets.
They didn't make a new barrier because, unlike before, they had no magic at this time, so they let Papyrus leave any time he wants to do almost anything as long as he doesn't try to hurt anyone.
Papyrus was the one who managed to finish the machine thanks to the notes he found in Alphy's lab.
Papyrus has never met anyone from any other timeline or au besides Core Frisk, and Ink sans core frisk offered him a new home he denied by trying to attack them. Ink tried to bring Papyrus to a world where Papyrus died in a fight with a human. But, on the surface, he dismissed that as well.
He chooses to stay in his own world. After all, he needs to tend to the grave's flowers and keep his friend's belongings safe any other versions of his loved ones he can't love because they aren't his own.
This timelines Frisk can't reset any more. They stopped being able to reset after they left the underground, so they can't reset the things they did to cause all this though not like they wanted to in the first place.
This Papyrus can actually cook witch makes sense. He's had a lot of time alone and teaching himself his favourite food is still spaghetti, though, and he knows how to make it well perfectly cooked with just enough sauce, a dash of garlic on top cheese sprinkled all over it and bacon bits.
Technically it's still genocide, but this genocide wasn't done by Frisk but instead the human race, so it counts as a natural run.
This Papyrus has been alone for 30 years, cannonly to the AU.
