added pockets to my sweater, they’re just 13 rows of 15st wide hdc then 2 rows of dc ribbing, then sc around to make the edges tidier, then I slip stitched them on without really counting to make sure they were precisely matched on each side cuz it’s hard to count on pipsqueak.

arin’s sweater I finished like a week ago, she wasn’t happy with the pictures I was taking so I gave her the phone and she wasn’t happy with any of those either as evidenced by her expression :v

it’s the same everyday cardigan pattern by sewrella [here], in size small with one chain added to the foundation to account for the mistake in the pattern. the back and front panels are all extended to 64 rows for coziness. the sleeves are size medium, with the bp/fp dc ribbing replaced with work-flat blo sc ribbing (12 rows instead of 5 rounds, worked to the number of rows equivalent to the starting ch for the size, sl st together then turn and work in the round), out to round 45. there’s 4 rows of bp/fp ribbing on the hemline and only 3 rows on the neckline because that’s what she wanted.

yarn is bernat velvet, ~3 skeins. (ended up with an extra because I had run out on mom’s and ended up barely scraping by with 5, but mom’s was also a (chunky) striped 3x instead of a single-yarn small so XD )

same sewrella [pattern] I’ve been using, this time in medium with 3ch added and large sleeves. same sleeve modification, these sleeves are 45 rows long. the hemline/neckline ribbing is 4 rows instead of 7, and I slip stitched all the way around at the end instead of just across the hemline. also the body panels are 64 rows.

(edit: it’s the next morning and I think I’m gonna remove the slst round. makes the neckline ribbing less flexible -n- )

yarn is bernat pipsqueak stripes in birdsong (<4 skeins) allowed to stripe on its own (altho I made an effort with joining skeins, and swapped direction on the skeins for the front panels and the back panel/sleeves so it’s all in the same order despite the different working directions), with caron one pound in lilac for the cuffs/hems (An Amount). I might add on some simple pockets sewn onto the front later, also in the caron.

also my cat loves the texture of the bernat pipsqueak so I’m gonna make her a little blanket with the extra, since she doesn’t have her own yet.

finally finished mom’s blanket, the dimensions are a little weird but whatever. she was happy with the last blanket so it should be fine that it’s a narrow like. almost like a wheelchair blanket width? it’s 120st wide, which is about the width of one of our oversized couch cushions.

alternating rows of hdc and crossed hdc, in pale green caron one pound.

sweater complete! it’s the same pattern from sewrella [here] I used for taran’s sweater in december with the same change to make the sleeve ribbing worked flat because what kind of fucking monster *starts* at the sleeve cuff if you’re chaining to work in the round (instead of chaining in a ring and doing rounds 1-5, do 34 rows of 12-st blsc ribbing (or the same number of rows as however many ch you’re supposed to use for the foundation chain in your size), then sl st together, turn, and work as intended from round 6 onwards, although it reduces the seam bump if you ch 1 instead of 2 at each turn).

it’s a 3x but the back panel foundation is extended by 3 stitches, which also widens each front panel by one stitch, and both front and back panels are 88 rows instead of 64 because mom said Big And Cozy. the sleeves however are 50 rows instead of 60 because it’s still long enough (even when the shoulder seam is pulled to the shoulder) and I had limited yarn.

I also modified the finishing, instead of whip stitching I slip stitch, and instead of doing the hemline and neckline ribbing separately I just worked in the round and turned the corner (dc, ch 2, dc in “corner space”). it would look nice with thicker neckline ribbing but I literally had like 14” left of that color when I joined the now-final round. (I tried joining on another of the colors but it felt like Too Much.)

made using 5 300g skeins of bernat velvet, 6.5mm crochet hook. you could probably get away with 4 if you weren’t striping (and if you didn’t make the panels double extra long :v )

finally finished the blanket for myself I’ve been picking away at since january -n- next in the queue is a blanket for mom, then another one for me since I realized they are basically wheelchair accessories and I will take any excuse to either make or own more blankets.

anyway I made a matching blanket for my dumb spoiled cat because I love her and don’t want her stealing mine all the time (mine on the left is folded into 1/8ths)
