Angels don’t age in the way humans do, but their appearance does change over time. They’re meant to blend in on earth, not to stand out when they work, so they look human, but that hasn’t always been the case. Some of the oldest angels have had other forms from animals to the earlier evolutionary stages of humans. There’s a reason Lucinda is associated with snakes and vice versa.
