aaaaaabsolutely absurd that because (for yet another year in a row) twitchcon has failed to provide even the most basic accessibility accommodations, the pink parrots had to receive their award, not On the stage, but in front of it lmao. went through all the trouble of building it, and it could not be used for the main point of the event because they did not think to include a Ramp.
So um...guess we're out of the copa then :/
Rowling spoke out about Depp's casting in Fantastic Beasts https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/fantastic-beasts-johnny-depp-jk-rowling_uk_5a2970dbe4b03ece0300c897
And with Gary Oldman, she definitely had the power to veto it. Even if she didn't she didn't call him out once
I just can't get behind her because she is so hypocritical. All her energy is on trans people rather then all the terrible cis men, who she actively enables. I don't think she actually gives a fuck about womens rights she just decided to hate trans people and vaguely uses womens rights as an excuse. She makes radfems and gender critical people look so hypocritical and people who defend her make it worse
Seems obvious but we should prioritise looking at peoples actions and the outcomes of them (platforming dangerous men, making the movement look bad) over the shallow way some of their ideology overlaps with ours
that is disappointing...
it is fucked that she didn't veto the casting of abusers in her movie but to me that seems so much less important than the actual charitable work she's done. i see more good than bad here, and i think we should show our support to any woman doing so much more than the average because class solidarity is such a big problem in feminism. but i also think people with your perspective are important in order to keep us grounded and understanding how far we are from where we need to be.
i don't think this a transphobic vendetta because she's been respectful of the trans identity this whole time. she's practically only attacked people who were obvious cis men abusing self id laws to access vulnerable women. she's not going after their belief system, she's focusing on women's legal protections.
i maintain she's worth showing support to, but she's no radfem. she's just one of the most rad-leaning or gc women who happens to be a household name.
.
i cant believe i just wasted 2 hours on my life watching that
you put it in perfect words of billy not existing outside of max's orbit which is so stupid ? and weird... like it doesn't work like that !
yeah, it really shows how isolated billy was. did he have friends? who was at his funeral? did any of the party attend? why did the byers move to california if not to give us some context of the reasons the hargrove-mayfields moved to hawkins???
billy really does feel like he who must not be named in the show. no one can mention him. only max and only that one time.
it all rubs me the wrong way.
All of us are dead was good but why did they show the scientist becoming a sick ass intelligent cool zombie and then never show him again
