21. “Can you put any weight on it?”
“Can you put any weight on it?”, Kitten asked and looked up to see the man’s reaction on carefully moving his ankle. It had been a stupid little accident. Kitten’s bike, Ari’s right leg and gravity, a mixture of these things had turned out as very inconvenient.
After about ten thousand apologies on his part, they came to the agreement that he wasn’t allowed to excuse himself for the rest of the day. “I already told you it’s not that bad”, Ari told him, probably also for the ten thousandth time. Maybe it was time for a second deal forbidding him to say this over and over again, because Kitten was not going to let the matter rest.
“Yeah, we’ll see about that. Come on, try if you can put any weigt on it. If it doesn’t make any problems, I’ll leave it at that”, he smiled guiltily and stood up again.
"Fine", Ari said and did his best to conceal his pain when he jumped off the honey yellow bike, but he couldn’t help but hiss quietly. Kitten sighed unhappily, pushing him back and helped him lean on the motorcycle. "I told ya", he mumbled. "Alright… I want to introduce you to my best friend, she’s a doctor."
