why do pigeons do the head bob thing when they walk?
It helps with vision-related things such as focus and depth perception. Pigeons will head bob more with moving surroundings to better capture images of the things going on around them, they will jolt their head forwards and essentially wait for the body to catch up while they focus on their surroundings. Most birds will be equipped with adaptations like this to better see their surroundings, some more obvious than others. How much a bird bobs will be dependent on the surroundings, how much is moving in the environment and the bird’s eye itself. The size of the eye will generally generate a larger head bob, larger eyes mean the bird can’t move them as much, which means the body has to compensate for the eye’s lack of movement. While you may be able to keep walking and look at the same thing a bird with large eyes (most bird’s eyes are larger than mammals in comparison to head size) will not be able to turn the eyes to look at something so they have to keep their whole head still until focused. How much a bird bobs may also be dependent on the internal workings of the eye, how quickly it processes, it’s receptors, to determine how fast it can process an image, the longer it takes to process an image the more the bird will have to keep it’s head still to focus on the image.
this site explains it a bit better
About eye color - DL doesn't require you to wear contacts. WDW does. I can't speak for the overseas parks though.
Really? That’s interesting…
FYI to people wondering about eye color
I noticed on a picture of Belle you posted earlier she has blue eyes! she wasn't wearing brown contacts to match Belle's actual eye color!
Hi!
Yes, the importance of eye color really does vary. I haven’t had much luck finding a steadfast rule for eye color… Some characters sometimes wear color contacts and some don’t… its funny how it really depends.
I believe that photo was from Disneyland Paris so it’s possible that they are more flexible about it there as well…

Okay, so I have straight teeth (no buck teeth, no gums too big), a longish roundish face, I'm 5'5, I'm very pale, I have big eyes, but they're like a slightly darker greyish-blue. Do you think I still have a chance to get cast as ariel even with my eye color? By the way you are the sweetest person ever for answering all these questions with so much detail. And I absolutely adore your blog, it's one of my favorites!
Awww, thanks so much!!! :)
And, no! Eye color really shouldn’t matter! Greyish-blue eyes sound beautiful and really aren’t far away from Ariel’s eye color! If they do prefer your color to be different, they may supply you with colored contacts to wear! The rest of your description of yourself sounds great for the role! :)

Do any of the face characters wear contact lenses to alter colour?
Yes, some do.
It really depends on the character and on your natural eye color!

Do they care very much about eye colour when it comes to hiring? I have brown eyes, but I'm very pale. I don't have a perfect 'button nose' either, but I know face characters with similar features so I'm not too worried about that particularly...
No- not really! They have color contacts they provide for people if they want them to have an eye color other than their natural color, so you should be fine! :)
