A male spiny toad [Bufo spinosus] with an unusual right eye, possibly the result of a mutation or injury. Although obviously not ideal, it is very common to find toads getting along just fine with only one eye in the wild. This specimen was found in France by Duborget Robin.

Is having grub eyes in children teens and adults a mutation?

Probably yes, but i don’t think it would be much of a big deal. From what i’ve seen of them at least, they look similar to Sollux’s mono-coloured eyes, so i don’t think anyone would worry.

Hey it's me again, i didn't expect for the answer to come so fast XD. What i meant was that he looks like a purple blood, not that he was a purple blood per say, sorry for the confusion. But since i'm here i have another question, this character has another mutation where he has no pupils, and i was wondering if that's to much for one character.

having no pupils should be fine, it’s a very small amount of total bodymass change, so other then people giving weird looks, i don’t think it’d be an issue for any reason so long as he can still see or navigate properly.

Hi! I'm trying to think of a mutation that would make a troll colorblind. Like not just being colorblind but something wrong with their eyes that is visible on the outside too. Thank you in advance!

Ohhh a challenge!

Well then, with colour-blindness, something that instantly comes to mid would be an alteration to the coulour of the sclera, the white part of the eye that is yellow for Trolls. Making that portion match the Troll’s blood colour while the eyes still have normal pupils and irises could be an interesting trait. or alternative making them somehow match the colour(s) that the Troll can’t see would be good to throw in a pitch irony. (say the Troll can’t see the colour red, the eyes could be tinted red somehow. though how that would occur in say, a purple-blooded Troll, i’m not sure about.

other possibilities off the top of my head could be things as simple as an oddly coloured ring around the eye, a vertical line across the pupil, or perhaps following the idea of blind eyes being pale all over, the eyes could have a visible haze over the pupil, not something that stops them from seeing, but something that is noticeable from the outside.

i hope you don’t mind…I don’t have a picture yet… your name is DALZEL CALDON and you’re a COBALT BLOOD. now that is perfectly acceptable, but unfortunately you were born with RECTANGULAR PUPILS. that is rather usefull, though, because your horns cover a part of your eyes, and this way you can still see, just like a SHEEP. the horns are only recent, though, they used to be small enough to not cover your eyes, you FEAR for what will happen if you grow older and they grow even more. the last thing you want is GOING BLIND. your lusus sais that won’t be the case, and he should know, he’s a RAM THE SIZE OF A HORSE and his horns are huge.

Goateyes are always cool! Sounds like this character might want to invest in some horn-braces to guide those things away from his eyes however :P

Troll with snake eyes. Thoughts on abilities this might give them? Snake eyes would look like this probably (sorry for the trouble btw)

I wouldn’t see any real problem with such a mutation, I've seen plenty of Trolls with various degrees of snake-like eyes, be them round with simple points above and below, or outright vertical lines.

In the cases I've seen the shape of the pupils was nothing more then a mere shape, not really granting any unusual abilities or visions. If you’re looking for suggestions however, heat-vision could be a possible thing as it’s theorized that some snakes are capable of seeing in infared, allowing them to see prey as glowing balls of colour on a darker background.

Being limited to only the one colour may be a limitation however as the Troll would have trouble identifying the various castes as a result. My personal suggestions in this would be to have one of the following traits occur if you decide to go with the heat vision idea.

A. the heat vision applies to only one eye, and the other (possibly looking normal) sees the usual spectrum of colour.

B. The Troll has the ability to turn the vision on and off such as Vriska’s vision eightfold.

or C. no special vision and just has snake eyes for the sake of being neat.

if you do decide to go with some sort of vision ability, altering the eye slightly to differentiate it from non-vision snake eyes may be ideal. Such possibilities could include a hard but transparent skin permanently covering the eye(s) (making them not need to blink), having squiggly patterns around the eye, or giving the typically yellow portion of the eye a different colour such as a more golden brown or even red. This would help differentiate the vision eyes from Trolls who just have snake-like eyes with no special qualities.

i hope this helped and gave you some ideas on what to do with your Troll. If possible, i highly recommend researching snakes a little more to see if there are any viable alternatives to the heat-vision thing. I hope this has helped!
