portrait art for the manifesto rpg thing

these were mostly intended to be placeholder doodles but i do think they have a lot of charm. im a freak who was really into reading the chucklefish game development blogs they used to post like literally all of them since the first ever posts about starbound. and what that means for me is that i like would like every 6 months as a middle schooler from literally the day it was announced chucklefish was working to publish stardew valley i would like obsessively check for updates on stardew valley. i remember anecdotally telling my friend with like exasperated enthusiasm on the playground behind my middle school chorus room in 7th grade that starbound was going to be a video game where there was an infinite number of animals AND guns. and then subsequently explaining what harvest moon was to my friend so that i could explain why i was excited about stardew valley. despite the fact that i had never played harvest moon. it was auxiliary to my enthusiasm for the idea of an infinite, space version of minecraft. and so anyway as a result i developed from my like 12 year old youth a very deep fascination with the placeholder portrait and video game graphics of guys trying to make video games. thats the point of this blog post. you like it. i still check to see if witchmarsh is coming out every couple months. i checked like a couple weeks ago.

once upon a long time ago, and yet not that long ago, the void spoke a question to a man left alone.

'I feel trapped, though the waters nice... I feel small, and cramped...' he spoke to the void, his mind blaring loudly in his own head.

'I'm scared.' he whispered.

a water lily he had spotted. a water lily he had found, he stared at its delicate petals upon sound water as he sat there. it felt nice.

and then it was gone.

he never got to keep anything nice, because nothing he had was supposed to be nice.

no matter how he had tried, he was never ment to be good. he was ment to be a bully, designed by delilah to be this way. nothing but anger. he never wanted to feel small again, or trapped again. he never wanted to be angry, but he'd rather be angry than scared.

so anger he became and hatred he harbored.

never again to utter any word against it.

never again.

I was snooping around the wiki for inspiration on what exactly to do for each toon and I was reading up in the gossip dialogue. I have a new appreciation for Dyle now that I've sat down and read the all.

Dude just needs friends, and for being a clock he always feels like he never has the time for anything.

This man is insecure but like, a really good person, he doesn't see himself as an equal, I have so many new ideas I didn't have before. Also Dandy is a bit dense, I think all of the toons are to a degree. But Dandy's a bit more obvous.

Anyways rants over got artwork in the works for tomorrow don't mind me.
