KANO MY GOD
3.) a gentle kiss from my character
She does it on the first day Kano Shuuya spends his birthday with the Tateyamas. Ayano had recalled that the family of six had just been finishing off the last slices of the birthday cake then, the very slices that their mother—named Ayaka—had baked especially for the birthday boy. The orange frosting that had previously adorned the bumblebee-themed pastry stained both her own muffler as well as the clothes of the other five members of the family, with the messy style of eating the family practiced. Both Ayaka and Ayano had shared a laugh at the orange-stained faces of the three younger children, while their father, Kenjirou, had simply cracked a small chuckle. Well, that was in the evening, anyway. It really happened in the time in which the sky was swallowed up in the smooth, velvet ebony of night.
"…Nee-chan?"
Ayano had heard it very quietly, then, in the dead of darkness. She had heard it right beside her on the mattress of her own bed. Heard the very voice that she had come to love the sound of, which, namely, happened to be the one of her little brother, Kano Shuuya. The same voice that made Ayano’s heart flutter in its place and sent millions of butterflies into flight inside of her stomach.
Struggling to bite back the hint of pink on her cheeks, you managed to choke a few words out, although they were a pitch higher than her average tone and awkward to her even her own ears. “Y-yes, Shuuya?”
He had said nothing in response, only moving across the sheets over to curl up against Ayano, tugging the red fabric of her scarf securely around his own body before replying:
"…I couldn’t sleep, nee-chan."
Ayano—her throat had grown dry as soon as their skin had touched—forced her pitch once again fall back to its normal level as she spoke, seeing as she had much more to worry about than her feelings anyway. And besides, she put the happiness of her siblings above anything.
"O-oh. Well, it’s your birthday today, s-so you can sleep here, okay?" She murmured softly against the locks of his dirty blonde hair, pulling his frame closer to her own in a gentle, fluid motion.
Kano was silent once more, but gave a small nod against her chest to show he understood. They lay there in silence for a moment, and just as Ayano had spotted the younger boy’s eyes flutter closed, she had said those two words, her tone as soft as the gentle moonlight that filtered lazily through the overlooking window.
"Wait, S-Shuuya."
Her brother had looked up at her then, his face tilted up to meet her eyes as she spoke.
"I-I have another p-present for you, s-so don’t sleep yet…" Ayano had continued, feeling her cheeks burn slightly as she spoke.
And then, she had done it. Ayano, on the day of May 10th, had pressed her lips softly against the mouth of her younger, adopted brother in a sweet, chaste kiss.
They always say to act on your feelings, right..?

"NEW ROOMMATE NEW PERSON TO GET TO KNOW YAY"

"I'm still not sure if I can trust that guy 100% yet, but I think if he would ever open up, we'd have a few things in common..."
Don't chase the rabbit~
You’re 15 years old and missing your warden dearly. It seems like the people in charge of your fate have decided that you’re old enough to serve out your sentence without tying up the time of a valuable member of society, and so you’ve been dropped off on an even smaller rock in the ocean than before. Supplies come once a month, as they come for the other prisoners abandoned out here, left to weather nature’s ravages until their sentences are served.
Feels like a thunderstorm coming, with the hairs on your forearms picking up and a metallic taste in your teeth. You’ll head inside your meager shelter if it starts to rain, or if the lightning gets too close, but for now there’s a bird trotting on the stretch of beach that separates the island from the sea, and you’re busy using your precious paper and ink pen to sketch its form. The sea bird shakes out its wings, wide and powerful, and you nearly break your ink pen trying to catch the shape of its snake-like neck in the movement.
A streak of lightning bridges the gap between a far off island and the shadowed clouds; thunder rolls across the choppy waves, and all too soon, the bird takes off again. You watch it skim across the ocean waves, occasionally dipping its head in to pick up a shallow-swimming fish. You sit on your rock, which is big enough to host a good-sized hut and several trees, and feel as small as a speck of plankton caught in a whale’s tooth.
can't sleep~
"Huh. Kano's not in his bed again. I hope he isn't getting into trouble."
"...I bet he IS getting into trouble, and without me. Rude."
"That didn’t last very long…"
She looks down at her poor spent sparkler, the lights in her eyes already fading as the heated metal curls up. "No, not nearly long enough. You know, I bet we can make one that will really fry their eyebrows off! Come on, let's go check out the alchemist's shop!"
eyedeceiver started following you
"Oh, hello! Are you the new roommate? Tala and Raine aren't here right now, so I'm the only one here, but I can help you if you need it."
