Candle is definitely Chaotic Neutral, in that she's balanced between her commitment to upholding what she personally sees as justice, and her search for her own personal goals, which don't exactly align with what's best for everyone else.

She fights for truth and justice when it's convenient, or fun, or if everyone else is doing it and she wants to fit in. In her current circumstances, she doesn't really have the power or the opportunity to explore her more selfish tendencies; the laws of Thalassia, the judgment of her companions, and the lack of resources keep her in line, for the most part.

In another world, she is bestowed with power and responsibility much too early, and she hangs on to her sense of self by just the threads of the only two people she can trust until she is self-aware enough to learn that this way of living doesn't really work. She has to fall from the greatest height she's ever known before she can truly earn her wings.
