Politics. Stuck-up aristocrats. Etiquette. He had enough of being a lord sometimes, despite all his love for Kryta and the queen. With time it got way more boring and tiring, all the intrigues and games, than Giovanni wished it would be. He sometimes pondered if his father joined the White Mantle cause just to see some change. Ah, he missed his younger days a lot. Not of because his father betraying the country, of course, but because it was a time of freedom. Not like anyone could order him around now really, even the queen, but not being a widely known aristocrat made everything easier.

So when an opportunity appeared to shed this skin for some time at least, he gladly caught a lift with Kasmeer to where nobody knew him - Cantha. A bit of holidays he deserved, leaving all diplomatic stuff to her, just as she would want anyway, to prove herself.

It were hell of active holidays though, there was so much new stuff to discover and try, and what of course did not escape Giovanni's attention was how Canthan mesmers wielded magic. Being a duelist at heart and an avid learner, he quickly threw himself into studying the ways of a virtuoso. All the excitement running in his veins made him feel at least 20 years younger, finally getting to match his looks.

Where the unexpected meetings lead Kerrian didn't think getting lost would end up with him following a stranger through mystic places like this in the middle of the night. But the blind guide somehow knows where one can see the most beautiful things.

Finally finished, my entry for United Art of Tyria art contest! A small scene with my OCs Kerrian, Xiu and Yue (the tigress!), a beginning of a new adventure for these 3! I imagine this scene as Xiu leads Kerrian to his temple and they encounter the forest spirits along the way. It's been a challenge since I rarely draw backgrounds but I actually had a lot of fun with drawing it. But now I feel it lacks sth 😆 can't even feel satisfied for 2 mins
