aaaahh I've made my first cutom furb..!! They were the wave furby boom that I skinned previously. I feel like put a lot of love into my first attempt here and I'm really proud of myself.
Ended up using a lot more hot glue than I would have liked, mainly to hold the inner face plate thing and the bottom plate together. They have a long tail that is stuffed pretty firmly, and they have extra stuffing in their body to give them that extra pomf and makes them a lot more cuddly to hold! Also their fur is super silky soft ahh.
There is one thing I'm sad about though. Previously they were mute but worked completely fine otherwise, but only after a few hours after finishing their customisation they pretty much just stopped working, aside from the eyes still lighting up for a few moments at a time. Putting in brand new Duracell batteries didn't fix anything.
So. Idk. I may have been working on them a bit too roughly that it caused them to finally seize up and stop working properly?? I don't want to take them back apart at this stage to figure out the problem and have to keep regluing them though.
For my first ever skinning and customisation attempt I'm still really happy with the result, even if they aren't going to be a working furb at the end of it.
Still need to think of a name for this child.
