Yo guysss I was just listening to one my of my favourite songs from my childhood sung by one of my many gay awakening which is Speechless by Naomi Scott, my younger brother now loves this song as much as I used to so that's why, and I realised that apparently she released her debut album the 20th of March?? So I was like ykw why don't I have a listen, apparently she took inspiration from 80's pop and has been working on it for a decade or so, I was really intrigued and so I gave it a listen... bro.
IT'S SO BYLER CODED I ACTUALLY CANNOT, AND LIKE IDK IF I'M READING TOO MUCH INTO THINGS BUT THE LAST SONG OF THE ALBUM CALLED 'GRACIE' SEEMS PRETTY GAY TO ME?!??? IDK WHAT TO THINK AHAHAH
Edit: See the reblogs if you want an elaboration lol, also apparently the song Gracie is about the woman Naomi wants to be rather than a woman she wants?? Istg bro why is it always straight people making the gayest songs :')
cuss u out wit da windows open

'f.i.g' album review ⭐️!
hellbent: cute and a bit of glittery vibe to it. naomi sounds really pretty here.
sweet nausea: i reallllly like the melody and beat of this; it's r&b but with moody/indie touches, basically alt r&b and again naomi sounds so good. the lyrics also are chef's kiss.
rhythm: naomi and johnny (featuring artist) sound so good tght here!!! the soft and sweet and almost enigmatic(???) way they're singing blend tght along with the music real bad. this track is subtly sexy and the instruments here were really good as well.
cut me loose: "You're gonna cut me loose / I don't even blame you / So, cut me with the truth, make it clean / Say it to me, it can't be worse than waitin'" < i like that part.
cherry: *warning use of in k-pop terms incoming* i'm pretty sure this is like the title track of this album. let's see if she's cooking.
okay there's a bit of a disco sound in the overall house/softcore electropop-ness of this that i like. she wanted us to dance and maybe possibly strut and vogue to this i think. i can def see this playing on like a runaway or a clothing store. i like it.
call for me: i liked how everything in this echoed
best kind: lmaooo now we've crossed in parental trauma. (i'm sorry) anyways, ooooo the way naomi sang "baby i'm the best kind~" that was just glitter and excellence ✨✨✨ mwah mwah chef's kiss 💋 also the outro of this reminded me of (sorry for mentioning a man) "nothing was the same" era drake music idk why but it gave that really bad and yeah this is an add to the playlist (lowkey the whole album is so far ngl 😗.......) there was smth so fucking old school r&b in this like it sounds and has the ingredients of an r&b classic DO NOT @ ME i know wtf i'm talking about
bound: first 19 seconds i like the beat so far (it's kinda similar to like the first 3-5 songs of the album) okay this is just good shit idk. naomi sounds awesome. all of it is just good i'm not even surprised anymore NEXT
losing you: "caught between a rock and a heartbreak" oh oookkaayyy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 "It's only a matter of time (ah) / Hope in my heart when I lie (lie) / It's only a matter of pride (ah) / That I won't let it die" bridge might've short but it hitttttt yeaaaaah this whole thing hit
bliss: oh this beat is sexxxxxxxyy 😩😩
gracie: oh this beat is sexxxxxxyttt pt 2 but like it's like funky rock this time ooooohhhhh *orgasms* anyway,,,,
lyrically this is so up my alley that it's in my ass and naomi's voice in this Rocked. the bass in this was filthy asff gotta kiss the bassist gotta wish he (it is a he) gets the most phenomenal head if he's not a horrible person
OVERALL, i was really trying to figure out why i liked all the songs from this album so much and unintentionally scrolled a bit further down to see that lido produced the entire album- bro. lido did all of halsey's earliest music- 1+1 is 2. also naomi is always a pleasant face and voice to see and hear. that's a huge factor too. but wow.
i do not know what i was expecting from this but liking the entire album from start to finish is a surprise. instrumentally, "f.i.g" brings r&b, house, (vv soft) electropop, bedroom pop, some funk (like "gracie" instrumentally sounds like michael jackson music), and atmospheric indiepop to the table and like it's hard to notice bc one could say a lot of the songs sounded the same but idk i enjoy a cohesive album bc it makes the tracks that deviate from the main sound catch your attention more. lyrically, i felt like i was reading a personal diary or like poembook- nothing in this lyrically is super heavy or complicated it's actually very simple lyrically but naomi's delivery and performance made it much bigger and hit different and so effortlessly too. like, there's smth so effortless about this album. naomi is Such a diva. i like it. i like it a lot actually. it's a nice surprise.
hmm okay favorite track(s) is kinda hard bc i basically feel the same about all the tracks on here but for now rn, "rhythm" and "gracie" are on the forefront of my mind even though ik "best kind" and "losing you" are up there w them too. uhhh ik there was a least favorite song even though that isn't even bad either (there's really not a skip on this album) and it would be "call for me" i'm sorry kween i really only just mentioned it bc i can't believe i don't have a negative thing to say about this like most of the songs on here are 2 minutes and that's usually a negative for me but i can't even tell naomi used her time on this so efficiently. sorry for the word vomit.
8.5/10 jesus christ. this album will be streamed like a mofo by me for the next few days.
