Few people are aware of the true origin of House Music. Some of Chicago’s finest dj’s took inspiration from disco tracks and remixed them with drum machines, off-beat hi hat cymbals, and synthesized basslines. What do you get when you mix House music with soulful singers….

For me, RnB is the language of love. Every emotion, heartbreak or good time can be met with a RnB song that perfectly reflects that moment. Have you ever been with someone that doesn’t have monogamy in their vocabulary?

When the Beat Was Born: DJ Kool Herc and the Creation of Hip Hop Hardcover
Author: Laban Carrick Hill
Illustrator: Theodore Taylor
Before there was hip hop, there was DJ Kool Herc.
On a hot day at the end of summer in 1973 Cindy Campbell threw a back-to-school party at a park in the South Bronx. Her brother, Clive Campbell, spun the records. He had a new way of playing the music to make the breaks—the musical interludes between verses—longer for dancing. He called himself DJ Kool Herc and this is When the Beat Was Born. From his childhood in Jamaica to his youth in the Bronx, Laban Carrick Hill’s book tells how Kool Herc came to be a DJ, how kids in gangs stopped fighting in order to breakdance, and how the music he invented went on to define a culture and transform the world.

Congratulations! You’re pregnant!
During the course of your first trimester, your future baby will grow from a single fertilized egg to the height of a tube of lip chap. At this time your baby will begin to build basic body structures. Things can even change for you, you may lose sight of your waist, you breast could grow and entire cup size and your areola will darken and grow as well.
Some women feel awful, with pains and nausea. Some are moody and restless. It’s like a never ending journey trying to catch enough z’s, and no matter how long you sleep, there is always room for more.
In this entry, I recap my first trimester journey, and provide tips on things to always consider.
Social media is a place to share life experiences. Majority of the time, people are sharing things in life that bring joy and happiness. I knew that being pregnant, I was going to share baby bump photos, maternity shoots and just plain blowing up your timeline with newborn baby pics. But nothing went as planned.
In this episode, I tell a very hard story to tell, but one that happens all to often. Have you had an experience that didn’t quite turn out right, and was hell moving forward. Don’t worry we all have been there! Share your story, and tune in to see my pregnancy journey through the first trimester.
Mid-way through my first successful pregnancy, I came up with an idea to share my experience with anyone willing to listen. I was inspired by the creative ways that people have decided to share their news. And thus... this promo.
I can remember in so many ways, how I had seen, over decades, how people in our society shared the news, or even referred to being pregnant. I remember watching I love Lucy, and they never once said she was pregnant, she was simply having a baby. Al B. Sure was so excited about finding out the news, that K-Ci from Jodeci, in “Forever my Lady,” sang his announcement to the world.
With all the pregnancy announcement videos on the web, share your moments on you announced your pregnancy to your spouse, family and friends.
